Our local partner is important to us because we need local Nepali trustees to use their professional knowledge and experience to provide support to Little Gems Girls Hostel. We rely upon them to act during emergencies to help the staff and ensure the smooth running of the hostel. It is also a legal requirement that we must have a local Nepali partner and quite rightly so!

For several years now, Help to Educate (or help2educate) have been working in partnership with a local organisation of the same name –Help to Educate Nepal. The members decided upon using our name because they wished to be an organisation dedicated to supporting our work. However, both organisations have changed direction and have decided to end our partnership. We feel that times have changed and so to the needs of the hostel. The challenges we face in Nepal grow increasingly complex and it was felt that we needed a professional partner that could offer the necessary skills and experience to meet these new challenges head on.
And so ‘Shiksya ko lagi sahayog’ was born!
The name is a literal translation of Help to Educate. We believe the new partnership will prove beneficial to the hostel because we have a board of well educated and experienced Kathmandu professionals who wish to help the children.
Our partner was chosen because we believe that they will provide good, strong role models for the girls we sponsor in the hostel.
We thank them for donating their time and energy towards ensuring that Little Gems Girls Hostel is a success.
Thank you!
